Jarl Erak Starfollower Traditional Cache

Jarl Erak is a Skandian sea raider, “built like a bear.” Imagine a face, “scarred and weather-beaten, framed by hair wrapped in untidy pigtails and surmounted by a horned helmet.” We meet Erak in Ranger’s Apprentice Book 2, The Burning Bridge by John Flanagan.

I have created a new cache series named from the characters in John Flanagan’s books. My son started reading them and once I picked one up, I was hooked.

Find a small 3 cup Lock & Lock container.

Is Erak a villain or a hero? We meet Erak when he tries to stop Will and Evanlyn from burning a bridge. He saves their lives by not giving them over to Morgarath and the Wargals, but he takes them home and sells them as slaves. Finally, he eventually arranges their escape.

John Flanagan’s next book series, “The Brotherband Chronicles”, ties in with “Ranger’s Apprentice Books” through Erak Starfollower.
