Geocache Description:

Rossignol Estate Winery (click) (N45.58.001 W062.37.945), PEI's premiere winery (since 1994), is located 10 km from the Wood Islands ferry in the village of Little Sands along the South Shore of the Island. They are the only Canadian winery to grow greenhouse grapes (2 acres dedicated to Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc and Pinot Noir varieties) in addition to 10 acres of hardier grapes grown outside. Their 50,000 bottle capacity, aged in 100% pure oak barrels, encompasses both grape wines and fruit wines. Approximately 25% of their field grapes are Seyval Blanc, 25% the red Marechal Foch and 50% the red Valient. They currently produce 17 varieties of grape & fruit wines.
