The Klipnocky State Forest is 2,612 acres located near the Swain ski center. This is the kind of place where the following could be very important; mark your car, take a compass, have an extra set of batteries.
The cache is a 30 cal ammo can in a hollow of a beech tree. The cache is in a beautiful area of mature northern hardwoods. You may notice the 2 trees in the cache area that appear to have been hit by lightening. If your approach to the cache takes you through a area with a trail marked with white paint this is the 552 mile long "Finger Lakes Trail".
Please let us know how you liked the custom graphics on the log book by Mrs Rocky. email us -Rocky@infoblvd.net.
Be advised Mrs Rocky and I visited the cache on 4-12-02 and removed the camera as it was about full. Also marked one of the trees that was struck by lightening, it can be found at N42 22.817 W077 48.080, check it out.
4/17/2014 - So I replaced the cache after 13 years. I have enjoyed the logs over the years but noticed most people took the shortest, not the best, way in. It is such an enjoyable hike I wanted to add these parking coordinates so the cachers over the next 13 years can enjoy that hike.
