Per la spiegazione della parola “GASH” ci sono varie opzioni:
- Potrebbe derivare da una parola in dialetto bergamasco “ghezz” che significa rospo.
Si dice infatti che in passato, quando si passava da questa valle, si sentiva sempre il gracidare dei rospi.
- Un’altra spiegazione potrebbe essere che “gash” derivi da gazza.
- Un’ultima spiegazione possibile sarebbe che “gash” significhi bosco.
Il toponimo dovrebbe giungere da "Gadium" (bosco bandito) ma va ricordato che "Gass" è un termine longobardo indicante un luogo cintato adibito a bosco o riserva di caccia.
"Gash" in alcuni paesi delle Valle Camonica è anche sinonimo proprio di bosco.

Qui si trova una piccola sorgente che sbuca direttamente dalla roccia. Fino agli anni ’90 si incontravano persone che vi si recavano per riempire le bottiglie da portare a casa. Anche io ho provato a bere quest’acqua, ma non posso assicurare che sia potabile.

La cache è molto semplice da trovare ed abbastanza spaziosa per contenere trackables.

To explain the word "GASH" there are various options:
- It could derive from a word in dialect from the region of Bergamo ghezz that means toad. It is said indeed that in the past, when you passed from this valley, you could hear them croak.
- An other explanation could be that gash comes from the word gazza, magpie.
- A last possible explanation could be that gash means forest/ wood. The toponym should come from Gadium ( banned forest) but it should be remembered that Gass is a longobards term indicating a fenced area used as a forest or hunting area.

Here you can find a little water source coming directly out of the rocks. Up to the 90s you could meet people there filling up bottles with water to take home. I also tried to drink this water but I cant assure you that it is drinkable.
