That darned cat. He lived in the farm you see straight west of here. We lived in the hamet of Donavon you see to the northwest. He was every bit a tough tom. He came to our yard every single day.  Then he started getting into our house. He terrorized our cats and even peed on our beds. But how was he getting in? Our kids swore they weren't letting him in. Did I mention that he was always filthy? That's unusual even for a Tom cat. One day we arrived home to find him once again in the house and we declared WAR.  ENOUGH, we said. Then it dawned on us. The top of the freezer in the dirt basement had been covered in black, greasy debris of unknown origin lately. We looked straight up and there it was. The old chimney. The cat was coming down the chimney. We plugged the bottom but couldn't have him coming down and getting trapped. The quick fix was climbing up on the roof and putting an old milk crate over the top. Well the cat problem was solved but that bright yellow plastic milk crate stayed on top of our old chimney for years.
