The first mention of Oxgangs is in 1425. In 1947 Edinburgh council began to build large scale council housing, mostly houses and flats. I moved from Slateford, primary school Juniper Green in 1962 from next door from what is now the Water of Leith visitor centre, a two room flat with a outside toilet to the luxury of a three bedroom flat with a bathroom in Oxgangs street , primary school Hunters Tryst.
