Bring your rod and reel for some good fishing here !
This cache is dedicated to the memory of local fisherman Jim Carden who started the Kokomo kids fishing clinic. He is memorialized with a monument at the coordinates location. Troop 555 helped set up this cache.
The clinic, which is used to introduce local children to fishing, received national recognition in 1999 and was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as one of the top fishing programs in the United States.
Once the clinic is over, a graduation tournament is conducted at the Kokomo Reservoir. Each participant receives a host of fishing equipment including rods, reels and tackle boxes.
The cache is a clear tupperware container, blue top, filled with the following at start up:
2 Bobbers
1 Bass stopper
1 Crappie Jig
1 Fortune telling Fish
1 Bantam Tail Spinner
1 set of Venom lures
1 mini laser gun toy

To find the cache, park at 40 ° 29.409N 86° 01.920W.
Go to the monument coords (N40° 29.444, W 086°2.201) , and find Carden's nickname.{ Note updated monument coords 11/9/02}
Convert the nickname to 5 numbers using a=1, b=2 etc.
For cache latitude, take add the last 2 numbers, add them, multiply x 10, add 4. Divide it by 1000 then subtract from the monument (minutes) latitude.
For cache longitude, add the 2nd and 3rd numbers, divide by 3000, then add to monument minutes longitude.
