Placed at the intersection of Escort Way and Peabody Road. Escort Way's route is from Orange to Eugowra while Peabody road runs from Boree to Molong.
Points of interest not far from this cache are two homesteads, one on Escort Way and the other on Peabody Road. 'Boree Cabonne' is one of the best known properties in the central west. At its peak it spread 40000 hectares (from Mt Canobolas to Molong) and was originally a merino stud which started in 1872. In its heyday it had annual shearings of more than 20000 sheep. The two-story brick homestead boasts 30 rooms with cedar staircases and marble fireplaces, including a dining room to seat 18 people. 'Nyrang Homestead' was once a 6000 acre sheep grazing property. The 1904 Federation style blue stone mansion included 12 bedrooms and 14 fireplaces. The bluestone was hand cut on the property. This mansion has links to Banjo Patterson and Cobb and Co Coach Company with it being originally built for Robert and Emily Barton who were Andrew Barton (Banjo) Paterson's parents. It was later sold George Rutherford, the son of James Rutherford, who expanded the Cobb & Co stagecoach company throughout Australia.
