Geocache Description:

Our original Woody Woodsman cache was removed due to the construction of the Ring Road. We wanted to replace this cache after the road work was completed. The original trail no longer exists and the Woodsmen are overgrown with vines and brambles.

The cache container is a camo'd cyllinder with the usual log book. Enjoy the hunt!

My sincere thanks to Team Nimbus for allowing me to adopt this geocache. It is both a privilege and an honour to do so.

WOODY's Story:

Woody the Woodsman was placed by Team Nimbus on the 6th of November, 2003. It was their second geocache to place, having just begun geocaching on the 12th of October, 2003. Woody the Woodsman enjoyed a brief, but illustrious career, given his unique hiding spot, but had to be archived in December 2004 because of the construction of Ring Road in Qualicum Beach. He was given a new life, and a shortened name, WOODY, and rehidden on the 9th of October, 2006 in a spot similar to his first location.

In April, 2017, Team Nimbus archived this geocache, with the intention of retiring themselves, but had a change of heart, and placed WOODY out again, in the same location, with a new GC code a month later. This is the WOODY you see today.

Geocachers who were around in 2003 when Woody the Woodsman was first placed have been able to claim three finds now on this geocache, and the current WOODY is the 'grandson' of the original Woody the Woodsman! The logbook that is in the geocache container is the one that was placed in the first WOODY, 2006, and it's fun to look back and read some of those older logs.

There's room in the cache container for swag (remember swag?) and for travellbugs. I hope you enjoy it, its location, and its history!
