Lets not make this one about Canada...but an event that affects Canada and the world. The attacks of 9/11. Your CO is on the parade square teaching drill to Officer Cadets at the Royal Military College in Kingston Ontario. During a break, VE3WIZ alerts me to a plane crashing into one of the towers. Suspected terorrism. No way...it had to be a navigational/equipment error (as I look up into the bright blue cloudless sky). Shortly thereafter, another plane hits the second tower. Command is alerted. A tower crashes...(I think ...no way....they are built to survive earthquakes). The Pentagon gets hit...another aircraft hits the ground in Pennsylvania. Get ALL planes down NOW!. Another airliner approaching from the north is not responding to 'GET DOWN'...fighters scrambled to intercept to enforce compliance. Air travellers get to experience Canadian hospitality...especially on the east coast.
