Update 4/16/2024.
Placed a new container at the final.
At WP2, I could not find one of the two containers, namely, the one in/on the bench.
Look at the transformer across the path. When you see something red, it is not a herring but coordinates.
UPDATE 07/29/22
The final container has been replaced. While doing that, I could not find the initial one.
If you see a white container, it is the old one. WP1 was inspected and found in perfect shape.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
At WP1 (start point), you'll find the Geek.
Here are directions on how to collect the necessary numbers to lead you to WP2.
Across the trail (15' from the Geek), find a Red emergency station.
Look at its face panel.
Find a number that looks like this:
xxx EASxxxx
Here, xxx are numbers, EAS - letters.
Apply the following pattern: abc EASdefg
The coordinates of WP2 - N 47 38.RST and W 122 08.UVW - can be found as:
R=g, S=b-c,T=f+g
U=c, V=d, W=d+g
At WP2, a nice and not busy place, look for the next two 3-digit decimals of the final coordinates.
If you're tired of the search, sit on a bench and think again. It could be close.
The final point is easily accessible. Go to the BASICs (or, base of something).
Enjoy.
Parking
You can always park at the Visitor Parking.
Also, I confirmed 2 times with different officials that
Parking is NOT enforced after working hours (defined as from 8 AM to 6 PM) and during weekends.
