As an earthcache, there is no "box" to discover. Rather you discover something about the geology of the area.
The soil in the valley consists of venadito clay loam, a deep, well drained soil on the flood plains and valleys. The alluvium is derived dominantly from shale and areas are irregular in shape. Typically the surface layer is reddish brown clay loam. Permeability is very slow and has a high water capacity. Runoff is slow and the hazard of erosion is slight. The hazard of soil blowing is severe. The effective rooting depth is 60 inches. In an email answer 2 of the following questions: 1. The color of the soil in the valley. 2.
