Franklin Roosevelt - 32nd President of the United States of America (1933-1945)
In August 1921, when he was 39 years of age Franklin D. Roosevelt suffered a paralytic illness, likely to be polio, which left him with paralyzed legs During the 1920s Franklin D. Roosevelt invested large amounts of his personal wealth developing a spa in Warm Springs to complement the treatment of his paralysis. Some years later, in 1932, he built a home there which he named the 'Little White House' Franklin D. Roosevelt, will be remembered as the US president that guided America through some of the toughest crisis, including the great depression, the second world war and he made New Deal policies that brought about the start of a national recovery Franklin D. Roosevelt's nickname was simply his initials “FDR”. He was the first president to have his own airplane During his famous Portland Speech of September 1932 Franklin D. Roosevelt was quoted as saying "I ask you to judge me by the enemies I have made"
