< Sunset View Point >
A sign pole at the Waypoint says this location of the best sunset view point in Shinshu area. Here you can enjoy a nice view of Enakyo valley of the Kiso river and Mt. Kasagi with sunset to the west.
There is also a haiku monument of Shiki Masaoka here.

＜サンセットポイント＞
ウェイポイントには、「信州サンセットポイント百選」と書かれたサインが立っています。馬篭を含む旧山口村が長野県であった時代に建てられたもののようです。ここからは木曽川の奥恵那峡と笠置山の美しい景観を楽しむことができます。好天の夕暮れに訪れればさらにきれいなのでしょうね。
ここにはまた、正岡子規の句碑も建てられています。
