Don't worry, there is no poison or mice in this trap. I bought these to take care of rodents in my garage but as far as I can tell, when baited, the mice could never figure out how to get to the bait--at least I never saw any evidence of them ever having done so. However, you may have some trouble in figuring out how to open the cache without damaging it (please don't). You may need a knife or screw driver to wedge it open. Watch out for poison oak though. Should be able to retrieve the cache without getting into the PO. Difficulty is related to opening the cache, not in finding it.
