We nearly left a cache here a number of years ago – but the obvious spot we thought would be too impacted by rain.
We were back today and contemplated the options. We would have liked to stick to the obvious spot – but got a grip on our common sense and opted for an alternative.
Although we have been here a few times and never seen the gate closed, we found a spot that won’t matter it it is.
We then spent some time contemplating names for the cache. Start of Serpentine, though true, was rejected. Anagrams of Serpentine, though some were fun, were a bit obscure. We considered Random (because the spot is) but have used that before. SoBad refused to call it Over the River, although Mrs would have been OK with that name. Hence, although we didn’t use the spot that fitted best, we opted for Get a Grip.
So a random park and grab near the start of the forest road – you just need to get a grip on the cache to remove the log to sign and the smiley is yours – if you have a pen or pencil of your own to grip on to. The cache is large for a micro, but a bit small to call a small.
