Geocache Description:

This geocache is near the Hessian Monument at the corner of Waldeck Line and Purdy Road. It is regular sized geocache with interesting facts about the area and the monument. Be sure to find all the geocaches in the series in order to get your limited edition geocoin celebrating Canada's 150th Birthday. This cache is one of the 2017 County of Annapolis Geocaching Passport Series.

This Monument is located on private land and they have given for people to visit it. However, the geocache is not located on the private land. The Waldeck Line was settled in 1783 by a Mercenary regiment from Provincial Waldeck Germany, engaged by Britain in the American Revolutionary War. Land was granted by Governor Parr of Nova Scotia.

Remember to pick up one of the historical postcards from each of all the 2017 geocaches and then to deliver them to County of Annapolis Recreation Office at 271 Granville Street Bridgetown, Nova Scotia. The recreation office is only open from 9 am to 1 pm Monday to Friday. Once completed, fill in the quick survey/passport for your limited edition trackable geocoin. Have fun!
