Ichigao-cho Park is 11,300m2/2.8 acres wide. South side of the park is lawn open area and north is a hill with woods. There were three tombs in this area. Late 5th century #1 tomb was on the hill, which was the largest (diameter 32 m/105 ft). #2 was late 5th Century or Early 6th Century tomb (23 m/76 ft) and #3 early 6th Century tomb (20 m/ 66 ft). All three tombs were destroyed after excavation.
Armors, weapons and harnesses are excavated from the tombs. The most important artifacts among them are a helmet and a armor excavated from #1. They were very rare type and have never been excavated from other places in Kanagawa Prefecture.
If you are interested in ancient tombs, you may find interesting by visiting other tomb parks nearby such as Ichigao Relics (GC12JQN), Akada-west Park (GC20HZX), Kan Kan Ana (GC20EDE), Eda Saruta Park (GC65V63) and Yokohama Relics (GCT3DE).
Do not rely on GPS here. There are two paths in the hill. Take the narrow one.

市ケ尾町尾公園は、整備された広場とその後ろの丘に分かれており、合計すると約11,300m2ある。丘には、かつて朝光寺原遺跡（ちょうこうじはら）の3つの古墳のうち、最大であった1号墳が存在した。1号運は5世紀後半に作られたもので、直径は約32mあったとのことだが、現在は残されていない。6世紀前後に作られた2号墳は直径約23ｍ、6世紀前半に作られた3号墳は直径約20mあったそうだが、いずれも現在は公園に隣接する住宅地となっている。
昭和42年に発掘調査が行われ、武具、馬具、勾玉などが出土した。中でも1号墳から発見された眉庇付甲・三角板鋲留短甲という兜と鎧は、関東地方では出土例が少なく、神奈川県では唯一の発見例。そのような珍しい出土品が出たにもかかわらず、古墳自体は保存されず、公園と住宅地になってしまったのは残念である。なおこの辺りは古墳が多く、市が尾遺跡公園（GC12JQN）、赤田西公園（GC20HZX）、荏子田朝日公園（GC20EDE）、荏田猿田公園（GC65V63）、大塚・歳勝土遺跡（GCT3DE）などのように保存されている古墳が幾つもあり、それぞれにキャッシュが設置されている。実はこの市ケ尾町公園にも、miimさんのキャッシュ（GC20BC7）が設置されていたが、ロストしたため現在はアーカイブされている。
GPSは参考程度に。丘には2本の小道があるので、狭い方の小道をすすんでください。
