Start at the Penn Gate parking lot and follow the directions to the cache.
Enter park at the main gate, past 2 cement shacks on your left. Heading South.
Continue to big pile of slag on left, turn right down the trail, heading West, away from the rocks, down hill.
Continue straight downhill about a quarter mile until you run into a pond, about a quarter mile. During a drought this might just be a very low area. In fact, now it is a very low area, that fills up for a few weeks after rainstorms. The trail will run right down to the low depression, possibly a sinkhole, don't go down into it. The path turns left to go around the depression on the south side of the depression.
As you round the low area, on the path, which acts as a dam for any water in the depression, stop on the south side of the depression. The forest service has been cutting down trees, and there will be a planned burn (April, 2019)
