Rust Traditional Cache

Rust, the bane of metalsmiths everywhere.  As a geocacher you’ve certainly encountered it whether it be the ill selected mint tin turned cache container or the occasional scrap of metal exposed to the elements for decades you stumble upon in the woods.  Despite the frustration that comes from trying to use a rusty device there is a certain amount of beauty in it.  The dull reddish-brown hue of these sentinels of the old world while often forgotten they are by no means gone.  They exude a subtle reminder that in their time they were both strong and useful.
