Geocache Description:

Here is another edition in our puzzle series providing you history of various towns in SE Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

N 42° 06.[A+1][B-9][C-2] W 071° 02.[D+4][E+1][F+1]

Brockton was first settled in 170A and officially became a city on April 9, 18C1.

On October 1, 188F, Brockton became the first place in the world to have a three-wire underground electrical system when Thomas Edison threw a switch to activate it.

On December 30, 188E, the first electrically operated fire station in the United States opened in Brockton.

On November 20, 201D Brockton set the world record for the most Santa Hat wearers in one place at one time with 17B2 people in downtown Brockton wearing hats, doubling their record from the previous year.

Added 11/2/24 - I reworked the puzzle to reflect a new hiding spot. If anyone has trouble getting correct coordinates, let me know.
