This geotrail consists of 12 caches hidden throughout Wyoming County and is designed to delight and entertain you while showcasing the many beautiful, interesting and historic things Wyoming County offers. To complete the trail and claim glorious victory, you should:
- Find at least 10 of the 12 caches
- Scribble down the unique code word you find in each cache
- Visit the Wyoming County Tourism website to enter the code word with its corresponding cache
- If you have 10 code words correct, sit back, relax and wait to get your limited edition/super collectible WyCoGT wooden nickel
- Brag to all your friends about your geo-awesomeness
About this cache:
Deep in valleys of Wyoming County lies the Hamlet of Varysburg. It is a beautifully quaint little village, but there is more than meets the eye in this valley. You see, there is a very mysterious secret tucked away here between the hills…a secret unlike any you’ve seen before!
Only those who crave adventure dare seek out the hidden gems awaiting you here. On warm nights you will hear the exotic calls of unusual creatures…creatures found almost nowhere else. As you travel to this cache, in the distance you might see unbelievable sights to your eyes. Fields full of camels, bison, elk, ostriches and zebras. Rub your eyes and trust your senses…these are real!
What are they doing here, you might ask? Well…that’s the hidden adventure you’ll have to discover for yourself. Be careful as you adventure into the wild, there’s a jungle in Wyoming County!
