General information
Okay, it's not strictly Canada's birthday. But it is the day that Canadians have chosen to celebrate their nation's birth, and this will be the 150th anniversary of the event they chose to represent it. You can read more about the history of Canada Day here.
Canadians don't have particular activities to celebrate their national day, they just take the time to appreciate what they love about their nation. I'd like to do the same. I've never been to Canada, if you have or if like me you've met some nice Canadians on their travels, come along and tell us about it.
Food!
There are a few tables about the reserve, and barbecues near the carpark, so bring whatever you'd like. One of the best things about any culture is their food, so I'll endeavour to make a quick approximation of poutine. I'd love for you to bring some Canadian food or something with a bit of a Canadian theme to it. Some suggestions:
- Butter tarts,
- Nanaimo bars,
- For drinks, a virgin Ceasar,
- Or your own recipe that uses a Canadian staple like Maple syrup, bacon or blueberries
Please let us know what you might bring in your Will Attend log.
Cache admin.
There will be a logbook with more than enough space for those of you who use stamps and stickers. This location is also very near a few traditional caches, including a deceptively tough one you might like to take a team or get a PAF for.
