You will (obviously) need a boat to get to this cache. If you bring
your own, there's a state boat launch located on Columbian Rd. at N
44 13.204' / W 74 50.847'. You can rent boats or canoes, or catch
the water taxi from Emporium Marina in town at N 44 13.304' / W 74
50.173'.
If your boat has a motor, I would recommend landing at N 44
10.115' / W 74 49.449' as the water is quite deep until just before
shore. This spot is also pretty sheltered from the wind. If you're
coming by canoe or kayak, you could pull in anywhere on the
island.
Once you're on the island, there's a little bushwhacking to be
done. There's a faint trail around parts of the perimeter of the
island, but no real trails into the interior.
