Geocache Description:

To Swift Current (TSC) caches can help you enjoy our grassland as you travel between Medicine Hat and Swift Current. These caches are located along the Trans Canada Highway (TCH), at pullouts for safe caching. All are family friendly, more accessible to east bound traffic, and most are large enough for trading items. No need to cross fences, but a couple of them require a short drive to points of interest off the TCH.
Enjoy the beauty of the rolling prairies as you go.

From the cache location, look down to the west. You should be able to spot the newer fresh pavement on the TCH, in the lowest part of the road. It is newer because in the spring of 2010 it was washed out! A massive cloudburst over the Cypress Hills caused the creeks to flood, wiping out roads and the railway. The campground in the valley beside you was completely under water. To view the very interesting videos on Youtube, search “Maple Creek Highway Flood”.

Members of Medicine Hat’s South East Alberta Region Cache Hunters (SEARCH) will maintain these sites for the enjoyment of people travelling the TCH. A lot of great geocaching can be found in our corner of the world, and we invite you to share it
