This cache is located at the Deerfield Township Hall and recycling center. It is a hanging camo film canister. The recycling center where the cache is located is public property and for use by township residents. The area is under video surveillance to prevent vandalism and facility misuse, but it is nothing to be concerned about if you are a law-abiding geocacher.
Deerfield township was establshed in the early 1900s. The population of the township was 154 at the 2000 census, and it is a very sleepy area made up primarily of farms. This is a very old township hall although I cannot find the date when it was constructed. If you are in the area during September, the township hall hosts the Harvest Supper, which is a rather large community event for a township of this size.
