In the process of being relocated.------- Not the park - The cache ------
Hills Creek State park is located in the upper central part of Pennsylvania. It is a one mile long lake that has boat launches, picnic areas and campsites and is primarily geared for recreational activities. They were hosting a bluegrass festival the day I planted the cache.
This park actually has a geocaching policy with rules and requirements. Basically you find a spot to hide the cache submit that location for ranger approval. After approval they provided me with a “GEOCACHING IDENTFICATION FORM” that I filled out to describe the cache (and the coordinates). All in all, not much different than the paper work you sign when renting a cabin or hosting a special event. This may not be new to some of you but, for me, it was a first.
The traditional 50 cal. ammo can, with logbook and swap out goodies, is within sight of a 3 mile trail that wraps around the lake. The trail is easily accessed from inside or outside the park with several parking locations to choose from.
