Geocache Description:

Fish Hoek Beach #7: Jager's Walk Multi - East

Note: the given coordinates are for the nearest convenient parking location.

The cache, a small green-taped tablet pot, is hidden near the eastern end of this popular and scenic walk which runs next to the railway past rock pools along the coastline for some 500m from the southern end of Fish Hoek Beach to Sunny Cove.

Take care when retrieving and replacing the cache to look out for muggles, who will usually be around enjoying the Walk - and ensure the cache is carefully replaced properly concealed . . . thanks!

There are many brightly coloured concrete benches along the walk where one can chill out and take in the view - most of these have commemorative plaques which form the basis of several of the steps of this multi.

See here for a short video of Jager's Walk from a passing train.

The cache may be done together with GC77Z4J: FHB #6 Jager's Walk Multi - West from the start of the walk or from the off-road parking spot at S34 8.643 E18 26.197. From the latter, walk a short distance south to and across the railway footbridge to access the walk.

Step 1: follow the walkway north-west to S34 8.597 E18 26.142 where you will see a plaque to the memory of John Blair Mackenzie. The number of the Psalms verse of the well-known quotation on the plaque is 1-A

Step 3: continue to S34 8.611 E18 26.181 where you will see a plaque celebrating with beautiful words the passing of Tanya in the C th month of 2006.

A few metres south from this location, a red shark warning sign provides three emergency phone numbers. The last digit of the 080 *** **** number is D.

Step 4: now move on to S34 8.623 E18 26.204 the location of a large stone bench and memorial to Mrs Fourie - a beloved 'wife, mother, grandmother, friend'. The alphanumeric value of the 1st letter of her name = E.

Step 5: onwards to S34 8.642 E18 26.218 where you will find one of the concrete posts supporting the overhead cables for the railway. This has a vertical identification number JL30 7*0. F is the value of the missing number.

Step 6: now proceed to the last step at S34 8.650 E18 26.235 where you will see a plaque commemorating a highly decorated naval officer - Chris Coombs who passed away on the G th day of April 2002.
