Loutra marine loading structure
Located on the northern side of Kythnos, Loutra is the most popular tourist place on the island. This lovely village with the picturesque Cycladic architecture is built around a nice bay, with great view to the Aegean Sea. The name of the village actually means springs, due to the famous thermal springs in the region. In fact, there is a hydrotherapy center in Loutra, while two springs are free to pour into the sea.
In particular, the intense mining activities that occurred between 1870 and 1940 helped Kythnos Island to flourish.
