kurtps: Yes, it is gone and scattered. No container to be found. I don't think I'll replace it. Too many homeless wander the area and a cache won't be safe.

New sturdier container placed 6/9/11. This cache is located on a small hill. The hike is short but mostly uphill. It is accessible by fire roads and trails in an open space designated area.
This is the first cache we have placed, and the third time I have replaced the container. It should be fun for children and adults. The hike is not too vigorous even for kids. It is also not too far from our home. We have hiked here often and enjoyed the scenery. Occasionally remnants of homeless encampments are seen near the cache site, so it is best to hike to the site during daylight. The trail provides several nice views of our city, some horses, and the surrounding area including Mt. Diablo. It is most easily accessed starting at a fire road at the end of a street at this location: N 38 00.500', W 122 08.017'. Following the trail will take you to a bench (the bench is now mostly gone -- it was destroyed when one of the big trees fell a year or so back) located in a grove of eucalyptus trees. The cache is approximately 60-70 feet from the former bench area. It is an ammo container. It is camouflaged fairly well, but should be detectable by a careful search. There is a fair amount of poison oak in the area, but not immediately adjacent to the cache.
Some small trinkets are in the newly replaced cache.
