The Prairie Peoples Challenge Trail is a hiking/biking trail on the Prairie Band of Potawatomi Nation Reservation in southern Jackson county. The Prairie Band is part of the larger Potawatomi tribe that was originally from the Great Lakes region. There are several other bands around the midwest. The reservation was established in the 1840s. The tribe has experienced a renaissance in recent years thanks in large part to the revenue generated by the casino located a few miles southeast of the trail. The trail runs from the Prairie Peoples Park to the Tribal Fire Department.
Please use either of the listed parking coordinates. Please do NOT park along the side of the highway. It is a rural area, but the road does see more traffic than many rural highways and you will attract unnecessary muggle attention to the cache location. The trail runs through the park and along a paved highway. Please hike or bike the trail and enjoy all the caches as they were intended.
