Geocache Description:

On the 2nd June 1942 two Spitfires were patroling along the South Coast, flown by F/Sgt Victor Reed and F/Sgt Robert Guillerman, above the Broomsgrove area, for some reason they made contact, and both pilots were killed.

Both pilots were buried at the RAF Hawkinge, after the war, F/Sgt Guillerman, remains were exhumed and he was buried in France 14Dec 1948.

I am not sure on the crash sites, but from reading about the incident it took, over the Broomsgrove Valley area. The accident report carried out by the RAF, did not come to any firm conclusion, but they may have touched as fighters normally flew in pairs with one flying slightly behind the other, and was know as a wing man.

Have placed the cache in an area, where its easy to park, and not over looked
