After a nice bike ride along the Prescott-Russell Trail, I discovered this cemetery at the corner of Plantagenet Concession 7 and County Rd. 19. I was surprised to find out that there was no cache at this location and took some waypoints of some interesting headstones.
There's not a lot of history available online about this cemetery but as the memorial plaque near the front of the cemetery indicates, it honours the Glenburn Methodist Church 1893-1914 and then the Glenburn United Church 1915-1968. The cemetery is maintained now by a committee of the Riceville-Pendleton United Charge. (Two churches "united".)
Genealogy is becoming ever increasingly popular and websites have been developed that contain photos of almost every headstone in every cemetery imaginable, this one being no exception. There's even a "Message Board" online that shows interest from south of the border in finding the final resting places for their Canadian relatives resting in this cemetery.
As expected, please be respectful of those resting underneath the ground you walk upon, and avoid visiting the cemetery after dark.
