Geocache Description:

A peaceful location next to the Lancaster Canal. A short stroll along the canal towpath brings you to the Cache and a convenient bench to rest your not so worn out legs.

Firstly don't get too hung up on the title, it has nothing to do with finding the Cache! As I was parked up in the layby another vehicle arrived, a very nice couple engaged in conversation. On the roof of my car was a notebook, pen, extraction tools, brand new shiny Cache and bright yellow GPS. Not long into the conversation I learned that this chap was the local Vicar. "Out for a walk he asked?". Well not exactly. "Pokemon?" Er, no not that either. I figured it would be OK to explain things, took a while. His wife pointed out that they have all sorts of strange suspicious people lurking around their church on occasions apparently looking for Pokemeon...mmm. Anyway, back to the Cache. You are looking for a small plastic cylinder about 2 inches long. It has two compartments, one for the log and one for a pencil. If you park in the layby, walk to bridge 22 and go down to the towpath, please take care here the bridge can be busy with traffic so be aware of cars from both directions. Follow the canal along to the Cache. There is an extraction tool provided, without giving too much away it is quite close to the Cache. When replacing the Cache please be sure to place it in the lower of the two locations and the extraction tool in the upper. Please also carefully replace the object infront of the Cache so it cannot fall out. Many thanks.
