The MoCo Expo Geotrail is a way to help introduce people to geocaching in Morgan County, WV in a fun and family-friendly way. All of the caches in this small trail are kid-friendly! This is a small 12-cache trail - thought currently 1 (Things are Looking Up) has been disabled due to vandalism. It will be replaced soon with a better, more secure cache. This is our very first effort, so be kind in your reviews. The county seat is Berkeley Springs, which boasts a warm spring that maintains a year-round temperature of 74 degrees. The "run," as residents call it, is a great place to bring your family for a refreshing (free!) soak, or to just dangle your feet and relax. While you're there, you can get a selfie in front of "George Washington's Bathtub!" Most of the caches in this trail are 1/1's to 2/2's. A few have been adjusted upwards due to Terrain (but still easy to find!) The idea is to make it easy for brand new geocachers to find at least most of them.) There are 12 caches titled "MoCoExpo Trail."

Now, for the cache

This will be a very simple cache-and-dash, found at the entrance of the first of Morgan County’s western towns that are “over the mountain” from Berkeley Springs. It’s at the junction of two rivers, one that goes on to the Nation’s Capital, and the other (named for a Native American word meaning “Medicine Water”) is where the town takes its name from.  The town was once the home of a thriving railroad depot, and was part of the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad mainline. It became a named town when a post office was established there in 1848 , though it now goes by a different name (to distinguish it from another “little” town with a similar name, also part of the B&O mainline.)  The cache can be found near one of the town’s most outstanding features. There is parking right by, but you will be close to a main road and a steep drop-off, so keeping a watchful eye on small cachers is highly recommended.  Muggles can also be an issue from around or below, so be stealthy!!

*******CONGRATULATIONS TO Bisquick ON GETTING THE FTF!************
