Geocache Description:

A cache placed in the historical ruins of the Hospital of St Johns, Cirencester. Accessible from the pavement, in a beautiful yet under-appreciated part of historic Cirencester

St John's Hospital Cirencester.

This is a nano cache placed close to the remains of the chantry of St John's Hospital, Cirencester. (Bring your own pen!)

The cache is accessible from the pavement and it is possible to park on the street close by: its suitable for 'cache and dash'. The cache location is flat and paved.

St Johns Hospital is not what one would think of when considering a modern hospital, being more of a religious hostelry and poor house: There is a plaque in the building that describes this history of this under-appreciated building and its former uses which is a fascinating read.
