This is a 3 part Multi-cache. The hike will be approximately 1.75 miles. Look for clues at Stage1 and Stage2 to lead you to the final. Permit for this hide is on file with LakeMetroparks. This cache will be archived by September 1st, 2018.
Hell Hollow Wilderness Area is a 960 acre park in the Lake Metroparks. There are 2 trails leading from the parking lot. Either will take you to the first stage. The one on the right is a little more scenic, the one on the left is a little shorter. I recommend taking one on the way in and the other on the way out to see both. While searching you will be hiking along Paine Creek. There are 262 steps from the ravine edge down to the creek. At the bottom there are a number of footpaths that eventually come together and travel alongside the creek. The terrain will vary a bit depending on which path you follow. Stage 1 should give you no trouble, Stage 2 could be a bit trickier. Enjoy your hike along this nice trail, especially the scenery, but remember that those same 262 steps will need to be traveled again on the way up! Be careful on the way out that you stay on the trail leading back to the stairs. I started following a smaller feeder creek...twice! I realized my error before going to far from Paine Creek. The cache is a regular container with room for trades and trackables. Please re-hide as found to avoid muggling.
