Welcome to the Ellis Island Geocache!
This Cache is placed on a small island within Robins Lake in Cedar Rapids Iowa.
During the warmer time of year this Cache is accessible by boat, kayak or small watercraft.
When I placed this Cache (8 July 2017) I parked at: N 42° 00.433 W 091° 41.901.
The Cache is only about 15 feet off of the edge of the shore but you will encounter some vegetation and possibly poison ivy.
During the colder months this Cache is accessible by walking across the ice.
If you do decide to attempt this Cache by walking on ice please ensure the ice is thick enough to hold your weight.
This Cache will be easier to access and find in the winter than the summer.
This is why the “Winter Rating” shows an easier Difficulty & Terrain.
