Kumpulampi on suosittu uimapaikka Nurmeksessa. Lammen vesi on jokseenkin kirkasta joskin pohjasta irtoaa herkästi aineksia, jotka sekoittavat veden nopeasti. Lammen rannalla on sijainnut aikoinaan Nurmeksen varuskunnan aliupseerisauna. Saunaan liittyviä laiturirakenteita on edelleen nähtävissä kätköpaikan lähellä.
Uimaan kannattaa lähteä aivan nollapisteen tuntumasta, ellei sitten halua tehdä pidempää lenkkiä. Ranta on suota mutta siitä on hyvä mennä veteen ja nousta poiskin.
Kätkö on mikrokokoinen purkki ja se on kiinni narussa. Sinun täytyy uida paikalle ja sukeltaa saadaksesi kätkön irti narusta, tuo sitten irroittamasi purkki rantaan. Purkissa on sisällä muovinen logi. Kirjaa nimmarisi logiin permanent tussilla ja sulje purkki huolellisesti. Palauta purkki paikoilleen sukeltamalla ja kiinnittämällä haka lenkkiin.
It is adviced to take the swim near the ground zero of the cache, unless you like to swim a bit more. The shore is mossy but it is good place to go to the water and get up after the swim.
Kumpulampi is a popular swimmingplace in Nurmes. The water in the pond is somewhat clear, allthough there is some debris on the bottom which can make the water a bit blurry. On the shore of Kumpulampi there has been a sauna for the garrison of Nurmes. Some structures relating to a dock of the sauna can still be seen near the cache site.
The cache is a microsized container. You have to swim to the cache and dive in order to release the cache from the rope. Bring the container to the shore. Log your initials to the logsheet wit a permanent marker and secure the container with care. Place the container back as it were by diving.
