This cache has been archived.

Leptoceratops: Hello!
I'm archiving your cache as it has been disabled for more than a one month and it is lost, completely damaged or inappropriate. Caches should be visited and maintained within 30 days after disabling.
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

If there are still leftovers from container I would appreciate if other players could collect them so that there is no trash in the nature.

Happy geocaching!

Geocache Description:

LV Slēpnis novietots pie Burtnieku centra kanāla. EN Cache is placed near to Burtnieki Centre channel.

Ezera ziemeļaustrumu krastā atrodas viena no senākajām akmens laikmeta apmetnēm Latvijā - Zvejnieku apmetne.

Šis slēpnis bija arī daļa no tūrisma akcijas "Simtgades dārgumi", ko organizēja Valmieras Tūrisma informācijas centrs sadarbībā ar Kocēnu, Burtnieku un Beverīnas novadiem

[ENG] Burtnieki Centre Channel is located in Burtnieki, a picturesque village by the lake. Burtnieki Lake is the fourth biggest lake in Latvia and it is the only lake which has naturally created rock outcrops on its banks. More than 20 fish species can be found in the lake and two Natura 2000 territories lie on its banks. 23 small rivers flow into the lake and only one – 95 km long Salaca River – flows out of it. At the North East side of the lake one of the oldest Stone Age settlements – the Fishermen’s settlement – can be found.

This cache was also part of tourism campaign “Centennial treasures”.
