Cauldshiels Loch and its surrounding woodland make for a very pleasant short stroll, albeit involving some root-hopping and route diversions when the water is high.
The cache is in the woods, fairly close to the path, so look out for muggles since it is a popular area.
Although this is not a difficult cache, the rating of 2.5 has been given since a wee bit of a scramble is required to get to the GZ.
The cache container is rather fragile so please take care when lifting it and replace it exactly as found. There is no pencil and tweezers may be helpful, depending on the previous finder.
This cache could be easily taken along with Cauldshiels Loch and Ye Olde Entrance caches, both close to the loch. For those wanting a bit more exercise, the path can be continued up to the Cauldshiels Hill cache. To do this, it should be noted that the area has been logged for re-planting almost to the water edge. In wet weather this can make it pretty muddy.
Note: The cache log on site refers to Cauldshiels Outlook, a name from the spur of the moment and not really suitable at much of the year. I will correct it when I'm next up there.
