Geocache Description:

Little difficulty getting to the spot especially after it rains.  Heavy mosquito area so bring some OFF!  

While trying to out run the French Navy, the Lost Sailors Spirit crew was marooned on Palmetto Island when their ship was blown off course by a hurricane in 1634.  But, before being captured they hid their treasure in an old chest somewhere on the island.  Legend has it that if you remove a piece of treasure without replacing it, you WILL BE CURSED!  

(There are also 2 trackables in the chest!   These are to be logged and placed in other caches in different locations.  PLEASE do not keep these!
