Geocache Description:

This is a cache that has been placed with the permission of the property owner. It should be a quick p&g for most cachers, bring your own pen.

Hops are the flower of a the hop plant (Humulus lupulus). The plant is known as a bine, or a vine with no tendrils. When added to a beer early in the brewing process they can help to impart a bitterness note. When hops are added towards the end of the process they help by adding different citrus or zesty flavors and aromas to the beer. Additionally, the addition of hops helps as a preservative. Germany produces the most hops annually with the USA and Ethiopia rounding out the top three.
