When we were young my parents referred to the road here as the shortcut into town from the canyon. Using it avoided a lot of the traffic, but it has been closed off for many years. In 2009 we were camping in the city campground and discovered the recreation path. It was a nice bike ride, or shortcut, to Dairy Queen from the campground.
While the cache is close to the road I do not think you can park on the roadside. Please use the parking coordinates and the paved path to get you close to the cache.
Remember that micros don't have room for a pencil so bring one! The log must be signed to make the find.
