Geocache Description:

Welcome to Pleasant View Cemetery. You will be taking a tour to various stops around the cemetery to collect information needed to solve for the final coordinates.

This is a cemetery that I had never been to before and I was surprised by the amount of sculptures here. The setting is beautiful with some amazing views. I had a great time exploring.

All of the stops on the tour are things that I found to be the most interesting. While you are here, pay your respects to those who have left us and as always absolutely no night caching.

There are 16 waypoints you will be visiting. The coordinates for the waypoints are listed in the waypoint section. At each stop, you will collect information which will be used to calculate the coordinates to the final cache-an ammo box.

Enjoy the tour!

Letter A: In Silent Memory

Upon entering the cemetery, you will be greeted by a flagpole with a dedication plaque.

A=First digit in the post number mentioned on the plaque

Letter B: Pray For Us

This sculpture ensures that those buried here will always have someone praying for them. Find the flat headstone a few feet away for George C. Marquette. He was a Korean war veteran.

B=Third digit in his year of birth

Letter C: Three Crosses

Three crosses stand high on this hill overlooking the cemetery. Go to the side where the middle cross has writing on it. Then find the flat headstone a few feet away for William Cervellero. He was a World War II veteran.

C=First digit in his year of death

Letter D: Chinese Section

A very small Chinese section in the cemetery. It looks like it is all for the same family. No way I could read the writing on the front of the headstones, but each one has the name written in English on the top. Find Chau-Chee.

D=Last digit in the year of birth

Jesus stands on the hill looking down over the cemetery. His left hand is resting on something. What is it?

Rock (E=3)

Cross (E=6)

Letter F: Pet Cemetery

A small pet cemetery section. Really cool to find this here as it was very unexpected. The coordinates will take you to the middle of it so you will have to do a little exploring. Find Miss Muffet the dog.

F=How many feet? F will be that number.

Letter G: Vietnam Monument

An impressive monument to those who served in Vietnam. This will be a two part question so read carefully.

Find the side with the American flag. How many stars are on the flag? Count all stars including the partial ones.

Now find the side with Vietnam and all of the military service logos. These pictures are all enclosed by a large circle. How many stars surround the border of this large circle? Count all stars including the partial ones.

G=Number of stars on the flag minus number of stars surrounding circle

Letter H: Mausoleum Atop The Hill

An impressive mausoleum sits on the top of this hill. This will be a two part question.

First find the block for Melvin P. and Ruth M. Lutz. Look at the carving of the two rings. It lists their wedding date on it. What month of the year did they get married? (January=1, February=2, etc)

Now find the Hostetter block. There is a carving of the firefighters symbol on it. Glen B. was the fire chief for a town shown on the symbol. How many letters in the name of the town?

H=Lutz-Hostetter

A unique headstone for a man who was a firefighter. Look at Ronald E.
