Geocache Description:

Once upon a time humped beasts were seen on the Texas turf in fighting form.

The cool of the green "verde" creek and park are the site of a historical experiment to develop a camel calvary for use in the Western States, mainly Texas. There were a couple of notable forts or camps where the surly beasts were tried to test their use by the US Calvary. The cache is in the park rightaway.

Visit the general store nearby and learn more while sipping a refreshment and escape from the Texas sun. The kids can enjoy wading in the creek. The cache is properly green with a white snap on lid and contains a video tape, cabachons, star, FBG.TX decal, minature holster with sixgun, and USA starburst glasses.
