cary99: This cache is "dead," and I should have declared it so much earlier rather than make it temporarily unavailable. I'd like to simply delete it from the system.

This is a family-oriented (for children), “fair weather” cache, accessible when there’s no snow. In the Spring, the "terrain" can be difficult, so this is not appropriate for small children. Please be careful.
This is the second cache in the "Tahoe Donner Family" series (to be continued). We recommend that you go for it May through October. Remember this is for children. It has children's toys, and you should leave the same.
Park at the Trout Creek Recreation Center in Tahoe Donner, 2 miles up Northwoods Blvd off Donner Pass Road in Truckee. You want to find the “loop trail” and head in the direction the golf balls are flying, then turn right when the trail splits and keep going. You are looking for a green, medium-sized ammo box.
The location is made more difficult by the trees, which makes getting an exact fix difficult. That's part of the challenge! This cache is slightly off the trail, so it might NOT be appropriate for the smallest kids. Be safe.
Have an enjoyable walk and have fun! Thank you for logging your visit here so we can check on the status of the cache.
Please obey Tahoe Donner rules and keep your dogs on leashes.
Some important rules:
1. No golf balls. These belong on the driving range.
2. No business cards. This cache is for kids.
3. No cheap treasures. Strive to leave something worth $1.
4. Please leave toys or other children-oriented treasures.
5. No junk (matches, drugs, product samples, coupons, etc).
