In the book A Scanner Darkly by Philip K Dick, he explores a disconnect between the two hemispheres of the brain, and reality itself.
Questions of the self and reality are a theme common to the author, and this book is an exeptional peice party based on his experiences with a sci-fi twist.
This cache will take you into the darkness within the Little Big Econ State Forest.
You will be in search of one or perhaps two hemispheres of the brain depending on the path chosen.
Parking is suggested alongside Snowhill Rd where the Florida Trail enters the forest.
With flashlight in hand, locate the white reflector to begin your journey.
Continue following white reflectors until you come to a crossroads deep within the brain, eventually choosing between two paths.
One will lead to a burned out hemisphere no longer needed, the other will lead to the final, clouded by blue flowers.
You know you have found an ammo can when three reflectors are found grouped together.
Please use extra caution while in these woods, especially at night. Many dangerous critters reside here. Though you will remain on trails for the most part; Minor bushwhacking is required. Be sure to bring water, a flashlight and a cell phone. Bug spray is suggested as well.
“What does a scanner see? he asked himself. I mean, really see? Into the head? Down into the heart? Does a passive infrared scanner like they used to use or a cube-type holo-scanner like they use these days, the latest thing, see into me - into us - clearly or darkly? I hope it does, he thought, see clearly, because I can't any longer these days see into myself. I see only murk. Murk outside; murk inside. I hope, for everyone's sake, the scanners do better. Because, he thought, if the scanner sees only darkly, the way I myself do, then we are cursed, cursed again and like we have been continually, and we'll wind up dead this way, knowing very little and getting that little fragment wrong too.”
