Introduce The Sea Scouts To Geocaching Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

GeocachingIreland: Thanks to the Malahide Sea Scouts Tonnta Pack for giving us the opportunity to showcase Geocaching. I have been reliably informed that the Scouts thoroughly enjoyed caching along the Cliff Walk and that some went caching in Malahide that evening!

I would also like to thank the Scouts for presenting me with a Neckerchief at the end of the walk. It was completely unexpected and I love it!

Thanks also to all the cachers who came out to support, it's always appreciated.

Introduce The Sea Scout's To Geocaching

When - Sunday September 17th 2017
Where - Raheen Car Park, Bray, Co. Wicklow
Time - 10:30AM to 11AM

Come and join Geocaching Ireland and introduce the Malahide Sea Scouts Tonnta Pack to Geocaching! The event will take place in the Raheen Car Park in Bray at 10.30am and finish at 11am. During the event we will give the Sea Scouts a brief history of Geocaching and how the game is played. We will provide informational handouts and have examples of the various containers used for Geocaches, as well as some examples of some GPS receivers.

A walk will take place after the event at 11am on the Bray to Greystones Cliff Walk where the Sea Scouts will put their newly acquired Geocaching skills into practice! The walk is optional and everyone is welcome to join.

The walk is a linear walk and starts at the event coordinates and finishes at the harbor in Greystones. The walk is approximately 6.5K in length and is mostly easy going and will take approximately 2.5/3 hours. We will be out in the elements so you should have good walking shoes, warm clothes, wet gear, and sufficient water with you.

No dogs are permitted on the walk for safety reasons.
