I used a kayak to get on the island on the southeast side. If you use a larger boat, you may need to get out and wade/swim a bit.
Boat ramps are available at Crows Creek and Camp Branch. A day-pass to the lake & surrounding parkland is $5, payable at the ranger station on the way in.
